Electrohydraulic Controls & Tele-Radio Wireless Systems
210 bar hydraulics, wireless control and a PLC that shows every movement.
Decks, ramps, winches and steering axles on STU trailers are moved by electrohydraulic systems built from Bucher, Walvoil, Hansa-Flex and Tele-Radio components.
210-Bar Electrohydraulic Power: Bucher 4.3kW Powerpacks & Walvoil Valves
On the car transporters a Bucher 4.3 kW powerpack supplies the hydraulics at 210 bar operating pressure. Its 70-litre oil tank has an electronic oil level sensor that warns before the pump can run dry. Walvoil electrohydraulic proportional valves, which replaced the earlier GMS valves, regulate the speed of each circuit independently, and three-stage cylinders lift a deck in about 45 seconds. The same components drive the decks of the 6-Car Transporter and the 4-Car Transporter.

Tele-Radio Remote Control Integration & 7-Inch PLC Touchscreen Interface
All hydraulic functions are operated with a Tele-Radio wireless remote, so the operator can stand where the vehicle is visible. A PLC sequences the movements and applies safety interlocks; its 7-inch touch display shows hydraulic pressure, platform positions and diagnostics as they change. Two sensors on the first platform report its maximum and minimum position. The Hydraulic Steering Low Loader uses SteeraOS, a Siemens HMI panel on the chassis with manual and wireless remote modes for axle steering, suspension and diagnostics.
Vibration-Resistant Hydraulics: Hansa-Flex Fittings & Leak Prevention
Hydraulic lines use Hansa-Flex fittings, which replaced the earlier Rekorsan fittings. They are rated for continuous high-pressure duty and have precisely machined sealing surfaces that resist fretting under road vibration. Dual protection valves stop a platform from descending if pressure is lost, limit sensors on the spindle systems protect them from overload, and the cable routing keeps hydraulic lines and wiring covered.
