The STU Standard Flatbed Trailer is a robust platform semi trailer designed for general cargo operations where fast loading, stable road performance and simple servicing throughout its life matter. Built for steel, pallets, machinery, timber, construction materials and ISO containers by configuration, it provides a flexible transport solution for ports, depots, international routes and daily distribution.
Twistlocks and container fittings can be specified for ISO containers, so the same platform carries containers one week and steel, pallets or timber the next. The standard three-axle trailer has a 13,600 mm deck, with 12,500 mm and 10,500 mm lengths for specific loads, and the payload is 25 to 30 tonnes depending on axle configuration. Deck surface, lashing points, side boards and 50 × 100 mm side poles are configured for the cargo and the way it is secured. The welded I-section chassis is ST52/S355J2+N steel; axles are SAF, BPW or TRAX with air or leaf spring suspension, disc or drum brakes with EBS, and an optional lifting axle that cuts tyre wear when running empty. For tight yards and roundabouts, the Mechanical Steering Flatbed steers its last axle.
