STU Tipper Trailers are produced for frequent bulk transport where body durability, stable tipping and clean discharge control decide real performance. Choose Pool Type for sand, gravel and aggregates, Metal Scrap for large volume recycling logistics, or Rock Type for quarry and mining duty. Each tipper semi trailer is configured around material density, body volume, axle setup, hydraulic tipping system and destination market requirements.
Three body types: Pool Type in 22, 24, 28 and 32 m³ for sand, gravel and aggregates; Metal Scrap in 50, 60, 62, 71 and 80 m³ for recycling; and Rock Type at 40 m³ for quarries and mining. Rock Type bodies use Hardox in 4/5, 6/8 or 8/10 mm thickness, chosen by the impact level of the stone. Most tippers run on three axles; four axles and twin tyres are available.
The hydraulic tipping cylinder is selected for the body volume and the weight of the material, and the lift geometry is matched to the body type so the load leaves cleanly through the rear. The chassis is ST52 structural steel, or MC700 where tare weight matters: chassis steel compared. Axles come from SAF, BPW, GIGANT, TRAX or MPD. Most tipper semi trailers use a setup with 3 axles, while layouts with 4 axles, dual tyres and bespoke axle solutions may be required for rough routes, heavy bulk cycles and local axle load regulations. STU configures the axle and tyre setup according to the destination market.

It is typically driven by road conditions, duty cycle intensity, and local regulations, especially on rugged routes and in heavy bulk operations.
Thickness is selected based on the density and impact profile of the rocks your operation loads. Lighter stone duty uses 4/5 mm Hardox; moderate duty uses 6/8 mm; heavy duty uses 8/10 mm.
The right tipper volume is not the biggest one. Divide your legal payload by the bulk density of what you haul and you get the body size you actually need. Anything beyond that is carrying air and costing you tare weight.
